During war years mostly stayed in Fintry - small village 21 miles away from Glasgow
Family. Mum and Dad, Alan - older brother, sister Isobel and brother Jim who was 4 years older than me.
Ration books etc. attached
No bomb shelters in Fintry. 1 general store only. no restaurant until Alan constructed one out of our garage - just a little tea shop
Blackout was there as Glasgow had. many of the men including my father were in the home guard for Fintry.
Heat and hot water were all done by fire. no electricity Toast was made withalongtoasting fork over the fire
Benmore was the hill we climbed to top lace our rocks at the top
